ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Food Service Associate is responsible for promoting healthy eating by preparing and serving nutritional meals to students and staff.
- Complete tasks that are assigned by the cafeteria manager.
- Serve food to students and staff.
- Prepare food per recipe.
- Appropriately clean all cooking utensils.
- Effectively use equipment to prepare food as directed.
- Assist in total kitchen clean up.
- Performs all tasks in accordance with HACCP guidelines.Reports to work at the scheduled time with proper uniform & appropriately groomed.
- Adheres to all school district rules & building rules & regulations.
- Utilizes proper handwashing techniques.
- Participates in meetings, training sessions & seminars as scheduled.
- Completes other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Current negative result of TB test and proof of COVID vaccination or commitment to regular testing.

Bilingual in English and another World Language preferred.

Ability to accurately count, weigh & measure.

Ability to follow instructions & take initiative in performance of assigned tasks.
ENVIORNMENTAL & PHYSICAL WORK CONDITIONS AND CONTACT
Works typically in a school cafeteria setting with kitchen, serving line and storage areas. Extended periods of standing required. Frequent bending and lifting of food containers, food and pots weighing 10-30 pounds is required. Occasional bending and lifting up to 45 pounds of items such as cases of food. Use of institutional kitchen equipment, such as ovens, slicers, steamers, dish machine and similar items. Occasional exposure to damp floors, steam from equipment and potentially caustic cleaning materials is necessary. Work in a hot and humid environments. Work in a cold, or below zero environment for short periods.
Daily contact with principal, school staff, teachers and students is necessary. Occasional contact is made with visitors and the general public.
