Position: Program Teacher



Job Description: To be familiar with the goals and objectives of the Governor’s School Program; to participate in the curriculum development and planning; to teach assigned portions of the Governor’s School curriculum; to work individually and in small groups with students both formally in instruction and informally with criticism; to accompany the Governor’s School group on the field trip to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Richmond; to meet with the teaching staff daily for program and student assessment; to contribute to the preparation of the final exhibition of student artwork; to contribute to the narrative evaluations of each student

 

Planning & Instruction Dates:

Monthly Planning: (Dec–May) 2 hrs each meeting

Orientation: Monday, May 19, 2025, 5:30–6:30 P.M.

Staff Development:  June 9, 2025

Program: 

June 10, 11, 12 - 2025

June 16, 17, 18 - 2025

June 23, 24, 25, 26 - 2025

8:00 A.M.–3:30 P.M. daily with occasional time adjustments

Annual Meeting: 2024 Dec 5, 4:30-5:30 pm (virtual)

2025 TBD late Nov / early Dec

 

Compensation*: $2,500.00

 

*pending approval and funding of the Governor’s School Program from the Virginia State Department of Education
